HIS BODY

1. My penis bends about half way down. Is this normal?

Yes this is normal. Every penis is different and unique.

2. What are the benefits of being circumcised or not?

It was once considered to be more hygenic to have a circumcised penis, but this has been proven to be untrue. Regardless of whether you are circumcised or not, you still need to clean your penis every day.

The only reason to be circumcised now is either personal choice or religious or cultural reasons.

3. I'm 16 and recently I have grown what appear to be small breasts. Why is this? I'm really paranoid about this. I can't do PE at school cause the other boys will hassle me. How can I cope?

This is very common. Many males grow breasts especially during puberty. They usually disappear as you grow.

4. I'm 21 and starting to lose my hair. Is there anything that I can do to stop going bald already?

There are two causes of male baldness. Genetic causes may be the case if most males in your family loose their hair. There is little you can do about this. Dietary deficiency may be another causing factor. A doctor trained in this issue can identify which it is for you and possibly provide a treatment.

5. My penis is very short when erect. What can I do about it?

Every penis is different and unique and all penises come in different shapes and sizes. Remember that every man/boys penis is unique and it's important for every individual to feel comfortable with their own body.

6. My girlfriend and I want to have sex together, but she wants me to wear a condom but my penis is too thick and I can't feel a thing cause the condom is too tight. What can I do about it?

Condoms should be used with a water-based lubricant and following the instructions on the packet. When this is done, they are a reliable method of protection against unplanned pregnancy and STI's (sexually transmissible infections).

There are many different sizes/textures/colour/flavours of condoms available. Check your pharmacy, supermarket or adult store for a range of different condoms.

7. One of my balls is bigger than the other. Could something be wrong?

It is possible that there is something wrong. Both testicles should be approximately the same size and weight. One hanging higher than the other is nothing to be concerned about.

It would be a good idea for you to visit your doctor as soon as possible.

8. I am 12 years old and I have been lifting weights to try and build more muscle. Not much is happening, what body growing supplements should I use?

Lifting weights at your age is very risky. Because your bones and joints are still developing, you run the very real risk of permanently damaging your body.

Body building should only ever be done with the guidance of a trained specialist who has your best interests in mind. If you decide to use body building supplements, you should visit your doctor first to find out the most suitable one for you.
